I'm in my 30s and despite its best efforts the society I live in still hasn't beaten the dream of becoming a full-time writer out of me. I don't know if that means I'm doing something right - or the exact opposite.
Anyway, I received my PhD History at the University of Missouri with my specialty is gender and sex in eighteenth century France. Despite being officially an academic, my passion is really for history as storytelling, especially all the dirty or weird bits that tend to get left out of textbooks.
Outside that, I also write a blog on whatever lowbrow culture debris I find interesting, "Trash Culture", I run the history-based YouTube shows "Hollywood Hates History
and "Before Stonewall", and, finally, I host the podcast "Trash Canon" about famous b-movies.
